Normally I'd be thrilled with having a day or two out of the office because let's face it - summer has hit Hollywood and there is naff all happening.
Though for me, I've actually been proper ill. As in moving only from the couch to the bed where my sweats kick in good and proper. It has totally messed with my equilibrium and what a strange feeling. However it has allowed me to revisit classics of yesterday and yesteryear.
Classic of yesterday:
- MTV - The Hills
No matter how often this is repeated, you can find me perched in front of the telly trying to spot the inconsistencies. Look!! LC had nail polish on in that scene. Now look!! In the very next scene, her nails are nude. Look!! Heidi really did pretend to organise a party for her fake next door neighbour's son. Look!! Justin Bobby really is a tool.
You know the usual...
Ah, The Hills... How it takes me back. If I was going to be honest, the reruns yesterday weren't the greatest offering. I personally prefer The Hill BS (no, not bullshit, but 'before surgery'). I liked it when Heidi and LC were still friends and had their original hair instead of extensions.
Classic of yesteryear:
- HBO - Sex and the City
How come I never noticed how much of a brat Carrier Bradshaw was? Her behaviour with Big in the early series is borderline Amanda Bynes: both single gals in NYC who have no idea who they are or where they're going. Carrie, Carrie, Carrie, you not a role model for single ladies. You are selfish.
Sign me up for a friendship with Miranda or Charlotte and sign me up for entertainment from Samantha.
Really, do woman still hold up Carrie are a role model? Because Stanley, I hope they don't. If folks really do need a guide from that show, look at Miranda - questionable hair, denim overalls and all. This pretend person is the business. She bought her own apartment (no need to beg and borrow from friends or ex engagement rings!), she became partner and she buys weed in her skinny jeans.
So, Carrie, 'I'm sorry, I can't, don't hate me', but embrace blue denim overalls teamed with blue duck-down puffer instead.
